Acceptable use policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This policy forms part of the Terms of service. It applies to every short link, QR code, bio page, branded domain, alias and API call on FY9, whether created with or without an account.

You must not use FY9 to link to, promote or distribute

  • Phishing: fake login, KYC, OTP, banking, UPI, wallet, payment or account-recovery pages, or any page that collects credentials or financial details under false pretences.
  • Impersonation: pages or messages pretending to be another person, a bank, a government department, a courier, a telecom operator, a brand or FY9 itself.
  • Malware: viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, unwanted or deceptive software, APKs or other files designed to harm devices or steal data, and drive-by downloads.
  • Fraud and scams: fake jobs, loans, lotteries, prizes, investment, trading or crypto schemes, fake shopping sites, advance-fee fraud, fake delivery, electricity-bill or tax notices, and "digital arrest" or extortion scams.
  • Spam: unsolicited bulk SMS, WhatsApp, email, social media or comment messages containing FY9 links, or messages sent in breach of TRAI's commercial-communication rules (for example to numbers on the Do Not Disturb registry, without registered headers and templates).
  • Hidden destinations: using a short link, redirect chain, link cloaking or a branded domain to hide where a link really goes, or to evade another platform's filters.
  • Illegal content: child sexual abuse material (reported to the authorities immediately), obscene or sexually explicit material, non-consensual intimate images, content that promotes terrorism, violence or hatred, unlawful gambling or betting, sale of drugs, weapons or other regulated goods without a licence, and anything else that is unlawful in India or where it is accessed.
  • Infringement: pirated software, films, music, books or courses; counterfeit goods; content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
  • Privacy violations: doxxing, stalking, publishing another person's personal data without a lawful basis, or tracking people without notice where the law requires it.
  • Abuse of the Service: mass creation of links to evade limits or detection, automated scraping, attacks on FY9 or other systems, reselling the Service without permission, or creating accounts to replace ones that were closed.

How we detect and act

  • A spam guard checks links when they are created and again over time, using FY9's own rules and, where configured, Google's lists of dangerous sites. Reports from the public are reviewed by people.
  • Links that break this policy are disabled immediately. Visitors see an FY9 warning page instead of being redirected. Destination hosts used for abuse may be blocked for every user.
  • Accounts used for abuse are suspended or closed without notice and without refund, and the information needed for an investigation is preserved as required by law.
  • We cooperate with law enforcement, CERT-In and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, and may share the details of the account behind a harmful link with them as permitted by law.
  • Offences such as cheating by personation, identity theft and spreading malware are punishable under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Using FY9 does not shield anyone from that liability.

Report a link

Use the Report abuse form or email [email protected] with the full short link and how you received it. If you have lost money to a scam, also report it immediately at cybercrime.gov.in or by calling the national cyber-crime helpline 1930.
